Tectyl 300G Black is a waterborne corrosion preventive coating. The cured film is hard, flexible and has a black appearance.
Tectyl 300G Black provides an effective barrier against corrosive environments for ferrous and non-ferrous fabrications and industrial components.
Due to its mechanical properties, the surface will be protected for a long period, even with a 180° Mandrell Bend.
Tectyl 300G Black is overcoatable with topcoat systems. Try on a small area first to ensure compatibility between Tectyl 300G Black and topcoat.
Because of the flexibility and strong adhesion, Tectyl 300G Black can be used almost everywhere.
Surface Preparation
The maximum performance of Tectyl 300G Black can be achieved only when the metal surface to be protected are clean, dry and free of rust, oil and mill scale. CorPro recommends that the metal substrate temperature be 10-35 °C at the time of product application.
Application
Tectyl 300G Black is formulated to be used as supplied. Ensure uniform consistency prior to use. Continued stirring is generally not required. If the product thickens due to cold storage or loss of water and coalescing during use, contact CorPro. Do not thin Tectyl 300G Black. Incorrect thinning will affect film build, dry time and product performance. Tectyl 300G Black can be airless spray or dip applied. Details on application can be found in the application chart.
Removal
Tectyl 300G Black is not intended for removal. In the wet phase Tectyl 300G Black can be removed with water or Tectyl Biocleaner. If dried and cured the film can be removed with ethyl acetate.
Storage
Tectyl 300G Black should be stored at temperatures between 10-35 °C. Do not freeze Tectyl 300G Black. Mild agitation is recommended prior to use. Packs with product should be protected from direct sunlight and heat. Due to its composition Tectyl 300G Black can be subject to postproduction viscosity changes during storage. Under proper storage conditions Tectyl 300G Black is best before 9 months after production date.
