A bus manufacturer in Poland sought to reduce production costs related to chassis corrosion protection while maintaining reliable durability in demanding road conditions. High material consumption, overspray waste, and frequent equipment maintenance increased overall process costs despite lower product price.
Tectyl implemented a two-layer corrosion protection system based on Tectyl 558 AMC and Tectyl 120 to improve application efficiency and optimize the coating process.
By combining a penetrating corrosion protection layer with a high-build underbody coating, the manufacturer reduced material consumption by up to 30–40 percent in practical production conditions. The optimized system lowered overspray waste, reduced filter replacement frequency, and simplified post-application cleaning. As a result, production efficiency improved while maintaining durable corrosion protection for bus chassis operating in demanding environments.
