Tectyl 122-A is a solvent cutback wax / asphaltic base, thixotropic corrosion preventive compound.
Tectyl 122-A is suitable to be applied to the undersides of vehicles.
Tectyl 122-A dries to a relatively firm, black, resilient, tough film.
Tectyl 122-A is very suitable as a protective coating in areas where high temperatures in combination with periods under the dew point occur.
Tectyl 122-A can be applied on many different vehicles, such as cars, trucks, busses, campers and construction equipment, but also trailers and caravans.
Tectyl 122-A is an easy to apply, elastic, protective underbody coating.
The underbody coating can also be used on different substrates, such as the wooden underside of a camper or caravan.
Surface Preparation
The maximum performance of Tectyl 122-A can be achieved only when the metal surfaces to be protected are clean, dry and free of rust, oil and mill scale. CorPro recommends a substrate temperature of 10-35 °C at the time of product application. Avoid direct contact of the product with PVC due to possible material incompatibility.
Application
Tectyl 122-A is formulated to be used as supplied. It is recommended that the ambient and product temperature be 10-35 °C at the time of product application. Tectyl 122-A can be applied by airless spray or brush. Details on application can be found in the application chart.
Removal
Tectyl 122-A can in the wet phase be removed with Tectyl Biocleaner, Tectyl 150 or low-pressure steam. If dried and cured the film of Tectyl 122-A can be removed with Tectyl Biocleaner or Tectyl 150.
Storage
Tectyl 122-A should be stored at temperatures between 10-35 °C. Do not freeze Tectyl 122-A. Mild agitation is recommended prior to use. Due to its composition Tectyl 122-A can be subject to postproduction viscosity changes during storage. Under proper storage conditions Tectyl 122-A is best before 24 months after production date.
