Tectyl 5660W is a high non-volatile, filled, waterborne, thixotropic, quick drying, non-flammable, dispersion based corrosion preventive compound with extreme low VOC.
Tectyl 5660W is developed as an abrasion resistant underbody coating for buses, vans and truck cabins. It is also suitable for complete undercoating of containers, trailers, etc.
Tectyl 5660W is also an excellent sealant for wooden floors of buses, trucks, etc.
Tectyl 5660W cures to a dark-grey black colored, abrasion resistant, resilient and tough film.
At the recommended DFT, the product provides extraordinary protection against stone chipping and corrosion.
The underbody coating can also be used on different substrates, like the metal chassis, but also other materials, such as the wooden underside of a camper, caravan or trailer.
Surface Preparation
The maximum performance of Tectyl 5660W can be achieved only when the metal surfaces to be protected are clean, dry and free of rust and oil and mill scale. CorPro recommends a substrate temperature of 10-35 °C at the time of product application. Non-galvanized steel and raw aluminum must be protected with an anti-corrosion primer prior to application of Tectyl 5660W.
Application
Tectyl 5660W is formulated to be used as supplied. Ensure uniform consistency prior to use. Avoid contamination with other products in pumps and lines. CorPro recommends that the ambient and product temperature be 10-35 °C at the time of product application. Do not thin Tectyl 5660W. Continued stirring is generally not required. If the product thickens due to cold storage or loss of water during use, contact CorPro. Incorrect thinning will affect film build, dry time and product performance. Removal
Tectyl 5660W is not intended for removal. In the wet phase Tectyl 5660W can be removed with water or Tectyl Biocleaner or low-pressure steam. If dried and cured Tectyl 5660W cannot be removed.
Storage
Tectyl 5660W should be stored at temperatures between 10-35 °C. Do not freeze Tectyl 5660W. Due to its composition Tectyl 5660W can be subject to postproduction viscosity changes during storage. Under proper storage conditions Tectyl 5660W is best before 12 months after production date.
